Foundations Asheville, a transitional program for college-age young men in Asheville, seeks qualified Life Skills Instructors to join its distinguished team.
Responsibilities Include:
-Creating and maintaining a consistent, emotionally safe, and supportive environment that fosters successful adulthood.
-Collaborating with clinical and academic support teams to implement programming designed to support young adults in reaching their goals.
-Working one-on-one and in group settings to model and develop independent living skills.
-Daily tasks of transportation, medication, and cleanliness, community involvement, and maintaining a timely schedule.
-Consistent role modeling of healthy habits, problem-solving, emotional maturity, and executive functioning.
Foundations is a residential program that requires overnight shifts. The standard full-time position is a 3- or 4-day shift in the heart of Asheville, with excellent housing accommodations and expenses paid. PRN positions are also available.
The ideal applicant would have:
-Excellent communication skills, creativity, and desire to work in a tightly-knit community
-Professional experience with guidance, teaching, experiential education
-History with direct care in a therapeutic environment
-A clean driving record
-Unique strengths to offer our community
-A desire to learn and grow in the field
This is not an entry-level position, as it requires a high degree of autonomy and therapeutic experience. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
