SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: Assistant Project Manager (APM)

This position will begin as a part-time position. The APM will be responsible for assisting the WCI Project Manager (PM) which will include, but not necessarily limited to:

-Compiling and reconciling of necessary client waste disposal data received into spreadsheets (i.e. location address, contact info, waste container size/frequency/price, waste vendor contact info, etc). This is referred to as Building the Master

-Communicating with WCI personnel, WCI clients, and requesting any missing invoices, vendor contracts, site info, or other pertinent data

-Assisting the PM with researching solutions to uncover savings opportunities

-Assisting in service requests from Clients via WCIs ticketing system, email, and phone. (i.e. missed pickups, new service requests, etc)

-Assisting Project Managers (PM) with any miscellaneous client review task that they request

-Soliciting RFPs from waste vendors. This entails using/updating our hauler database with current vendor contact info for the market. We ask for 3 to 5 vendors (where available) to price out requested service levels and return that pricing within a specific period of time as requested by the PM. Pricing shall be entered into the Master for PM review.

The APM will be supported by and will report to the Project Managers.

EXPECTATIONS and OBJECTIVES

The APM will work directly with the WCI Project Managers.

The APM should be humble (willing to learn and be teachable), hungry (motivated to succeed and grow) and smart (good with people, willing to knock down obstacles).

The APM should have a strong desire to help build and grow processes already in place. Feedback and suggestions from the APM for improving WCIs performance and efficiency will be expected, encouraged, and recognized. The ultimate goal is that the APM role would eventually turn into a PM role.

PERFORMANCE and COMPENSATION

Performance in this position will be measured by the degree to which the APM consistently compiles and reconciles necessary client data in a timely manner. Further, the degree into which the APM shows an aptitude for researching solutions to uncover savings opportunities.

The hours required of this position will be approximately 20-25 hours per week to start.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS

A Bachelors Degree is preferred

Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry is a Plus

Strong business analysis, solution crafting, and interaction management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong desire to excel at a given task

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $13.00 to $16.00 /hour
