A small independent motel is hiring full time housekeeper immediately.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms, baths, and motel common areas and exterior under supervision of the Senior Guest Room Attendant and Resident Manager. Guest room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Enter and prepare the guest room for cleaning.

2.Make beds.

3.Dust the room and furniture.

4.Replenish guestroom and bath supplies.

5.Clean the bathroom.

6.Vacuum the carpet.

7.Check and secure the rooms.

8.Replenish amenities according to the operational standards.

9.Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards.

10.Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.

11.Perform rotation cleaning duties as required.

12.Sweep balconies and outside walkways.

13.Picks up trash and other debris to keep outdoor areas clean.

14.Responsible for inventory and replenishment of guest room snack bar.

15.Wash, dry and fold guest linens, towels and cleaning rags.

16.Responsible for re-stocking the housekeeping cart and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of work areas.

17.Responsible for the proper use and care of motel property in the work area and rest of the property.

18.Attend to guest calls, guest requests/complaints with a friendly, positive and helpful attitude.

19.Responsible for following the standard operating procedures and completing rooms in a time-efficient yet detail-focused manor.

20.Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.

Experience: Previous motel/hotel-related experience preferred, but not mandatory. We are happy to train the right person! Must have verifiable work history.

Other Expectations: Must be quick on your feet, flexible with daily expectations, have a strong ability to follow instruction. Requires comfort while working independently or as a small team. Must be detail-oriented and focused on providing superior customer service. A professional attitude and clean, and well-groomed appearance is required, as well as a strong personal integrity. A background check will be required upon acceptance of a position.

Physical: Requires the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, as well as the ability to bend, kneel, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance. Requires significant physical demands throughout the entire work shift. Although most work takes place indoors, Guest Room Attendants will be working in and out of doors in all weather conditions.

Schedule: Although we do try to outline a basic weekly schedule to help employees plan their time, flexibility is necessary due to the changing needs of the motel. Daily hours tend to range between about 6:30am and 3pm each day, and Guest Room Attendants can expect to work almost every weekend and holidays.

COMPENSATION & TRAINING:

We offer employees an hourly wage paid bi-weekly. Sign-up bonus up to $200.00. Paid on-the-job training is provided, as well as an opportunity to receive training and recognition as a Certified Guestroom Attendant with the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Educational Institute.
