We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in our lab at our Nassau County location.
You Are:
An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences
Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances
Adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals
A good decision-maker with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
Willing to take action and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy and passion
Very comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
You Will:
Review requisitions and order entry orders to verify the accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into the computer
Prepare specimens for testing or send out to another laboratory for testing utilizing the laboratory computer system
Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized file system, filing addition/correction sheets, requisitions, and reference laboratories’ results according to laboratory guidelines
Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies
Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area
You Have:
High school diploma/GED + 1-2 years of proven experience
Strong computer skills in Word and Excel
Excellent information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to laboratory and hospital staff
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours a week
Monday - Friday, flexible schedule between the hours of 8am and 8pm#LI-Post
