Foster Grandparent Program Assistant Location: Troy, NY Salary: $15.00/hour Job type: Full-time Benefits: Yes Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) is seeking a Program Assistant for our Foster Grandparent Volunteer Program. What is a Foster Grandparent Volunteer? Foster Grandparent Volunteers are role models, mentors, and friends to children with exceptional needs. They might volunteer at non-profits, schools, Head Start programs, after-school programs, day care centers, or any other child care site where at-risk children need support. The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. Responsibilities of the Program Assistant: · Provide administrative and office management support for the program to include screening incoming calls, assist walk-ins, mail and file maintenance · Manage electronic records and volunteer database · Collaborate with staff members to collect and process volunteer documents · Actively assist with the development of materials designed to communicate program information and assist with volunteer training and events · Provide support services to program volunteers Qualifications: · High School Diploma or equivalent · An interest in working with the program’s target population · Experience in administrative and Human Services or related field · A clean and valid NYS Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required · Excellent attention to detail and organization and communication skills required · Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required Preferred qualifications in addition to the above: · Associates degree in Business or Office Administration or related field · Experience working with the older adult population Check out our benefit package!
