Description: This position is specifically for a Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability (RMT) and Diagnostics engineer with expertise in developing and optimizing maintainability approaches for avionic system of systems, systems, subsystems, and components.Specific tasks include:-Influencing the complete life cycle; CONOPs, design,development, verification test, and sustainment based onprogram requirements by resolving RMT technical issuesusing analysis, data, industry practices, and academicresearch-Evaluating impact of environmental and operationalfactors directly related to RMT approach, analysis, andtesting-Performing trade studies to optimize RMT performance,and life cycle cost-Allocating and documenting RMT requirements andanalysis including the application of reliability predictions,and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis(FMECA), and maintainability predictions including Fault detection and isolation on avionic and electrical systems.-Planning and performing reliability testing and utilizereliability growth models as part of an overall reliabilityprogram-Implementing Failure Reporting And Corrective ActionsSystems (FRACAS) process and interpreting statisticaldata derived from failure data to determine root causeand corrective actions to eliminate failure mode-Integration of RMT and Diagnostics with sustainmentprograms (i.e Performance Based Logistics)-Conducting design analysis, system modeling, testing,applying system engineering principles with emphasis onRMT, systems diagnostics, and troubleshooting.The Locale: Owego, New York is located about 200 milesnorthwest of New York City and about 75 miles south ofSyracuse New York. Owego sits just north of the borderwith Pennsylvania and is part of what's known as the "Southern Tier" section of New York State. The region ishome to Binghamton University and Cornell University.Niagara Falls, NYC, & Philadelphia are all within a fewhours’ drive from Owego. Rolling hillsides, historichomes, quaint country shops, riverside restaurants,fabulous festivals and a beautiful river make this region agreat place to live.Basic Qualifications:-Requires an engineering degree in Electrical, Computer, Industrial, or Systems engineering or math/physics.-Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.-Familiar with Reliability and Maintainability principlesand practices-Familiar with reliability maintainability calculations inaccordance with industry standards (MIL-HDBK-217,Bellcore/Telecordia, etc…)-Familiar with FRACAS-Familiar with system level diagnostics such as InitialBuilt In Test (IBIT) Assessment and MaintainabilityDemonstrations-Familiar with requirements development, system design,problem analysis and resolution, and integration andtest.-Need to possess good communication skills for customerpresentations and can work in a team environment aspart of a multi-disciplined team effort involving manycompanies and customers.-Proficient with Microsoft office suite, including, Excel,Access, or other databasesDesired Skills:-Knowledge of product test, environmental or reliabilitytesting or manufacturing engineering.-Experience in customer interfacing-Experience with a diversity of complex electrical andavionic systems-Application overall systems engineering efforts-Experience with software intensive systems-Experience with probability, statistics, mathematicalmodeling-Familiar with SW tools/languages, such as: LabVIEW,Perl, C+, XML, C, and JavaBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
