Come and experience your future!The first line manager of this team will be responsible for day to day management and successful attainment of all program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives. The Manager is responsible for personnel and resource management, project planning, scheduling, and execution of mechanical engineering analysis and environmental testing for electronic hardware and systems.Program duties include providing adequate staffing and training/skill/knowledge base; addressing Engineering Program Management (EPM) staffing requests and performance adjustments; handling contract-related issues (program priorities, work schedules, tools, workload planning, workload balance, task monitoring, issue resolution, etc.); helping put together and executing recovery plans; developing and executing cost, schedule and technical plans; reviewing Earned Value Management (EVM) performance; dealing with out-of-scope requests; participating in key milestone event preparation (PDR, CDR, etc.); keeping the team, upper management, Chief Engineering org, and Program Management informed via Items-of-Information (IOIs), Monthly Program Reviews (MPRs), and Chief Engineer Reviews (CERs); assuring the Hardware Development process is followed and identifying and implementing process improvement; and monitoring customer satisfaction. Special assignments as assigned.Personnel management duties include workload management, staffing, and hiring; teamwork and team building; coaching and mentoring; performance feedback and counseling; employee professional growth and education; recognition and reward; competitive and technological advancement; and organizational strategic planning and diversity.This department is a service department that is involved with almost every military program in the Owego facility. This organization works closely with other mechanical engineering groups, systems engineering, electrical engineering, reliability engineering, product test engineering, and program management. The manager of this department will supervise a group of 8 to 16 engineers and technicians with mechanical and electrical engineering backgrounds.The manager must be able to foster excellent customer relations, since this department works on so many different programs simultaneously, and customer demands for limited resources (personnel or test laboratory facilities) can exceed capacity. This management position requires the ability to work closely with the program office, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering manufacturing, customers, and suppliers.Basic Qualifications:Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Physics, or similar Background.Experience with leading development teams.Knowledge of electronic packaging and environmental testing.Earned Value Management and Control Account management experience.Program financial measurements / cost management and reporting experience.Candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal relationships skills.Working knowledge of MS Office.Project management Experience.Personnel management, problem resolution and employee relations, including teammates and subcontractors.Demonstrated ability through work experience, to partner across organizations to achieve results.Demonstrated strong coordination, integration, and advanced planning skills.Desired Skills:Experience with mechanical engineering analysis.Background in thermal, and structural analysis.Finite Element Modeling experience.Familiarity with ANSYS, CFX, and ABAQUS.Knowledge of environmental design and test specifications, including MIL-STD-810 and RTCA/DO-160. Experience with environmental engineering test standards, environmental engineering test equipment, and test execution.Knowledge of the mechanical design process and tools.Experience with RF and digital card, module, board, and system design.Experience with antenna and radome design.System or Product design, integration, and test experience.CAM Certification or LM PM Certified, PMI Certified or working toward certification.Demonstrated and recognized for Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors and skills.Working knowledge of IT processes, tools and technologies.Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering Analysis.Understanding of all phases of the Hardware Development Process.Strong interest in incorporating additive manufacturing techniques.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
