ROLE SUMMARYThe Oncology Account Specialist (OAS) is responsible for 2 distinct areas of focus:
Breast Cancer
Educating members of the healthcare community about the clinical value proposition and appropriate use of Pfizer product(s)
Calling on accounts and organized customers to help improve patients' experience with Pfizer products as well the overall quality of patient care delivered
Biosimilars
Driving awareness and adoption of Pfizer's portfolio of Biosimilars in targeted hospital accounts and clinics
Collaborating with a variety of internal teams (e.g. Account Management, Other Sales Teams) to develop and execute account-specific action plans that lead to achievement of sales goals and objectives
Engaging a variety of external stakeholders (e.g. Pharmacy Directors, Financial Decision Makers, Health Care Providers) to: Communicate value proposition of Biosimilars; Gain hospital formulary acceptance; Pull-through across Provider base in targeted hospitals/clinics
The OAS will need to demonstrate strong clinical-selling skills as well as business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset in order to promote a diverse portfolio of products across both hospitals and clinics in a large geographic footprint.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Educate a variety of Healthcare stakeholders on the clinical value proposition of Breast Cancer product in a compliant manner
Drive adoption of Biosimilars by effectively and compliantly communicating clinical and financial value proposition of portfolio to a variety of healthcare stakeholders including: prescribers, pharmacists, office staff, financial decision makers, etc.
Demonstrate superior selling, technical and relationship-building skills
Develop comprehensive action plan including identification of key targets (i.e. key accounts/customers) across the territory to drive achievement of desired objectives
Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult to see health care providers and customers.
Cultivate relationships with KOLs; build lasting relationships with top priority customers
Engage, influence and support customers throughout the selling process; excellent communication and interpersonal and leadership skills.
Learn and embrace new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment.
Work cross-functionally in a collaborative fashion across the Pfizer organization with other sales divisions and/or supporting team members to promote the portfolio in a compliant manner.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution
Must live within 50 miles of the territory and possess the ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary
Valid US driver's license and a driving record in compliance with company standards
Minimum of 4 years of previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience required
Substantial experience working with key thought leaders or high influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations
A demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment with previous pharmaceutical sales experience.
Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customer
Demonstrated high degree of business acumen
Proficiency using complex sales data/call reporting software/applications and able to adapt to Pfizer's long range technology model in bringing relevant Pfizer information to market.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute on promotional opportunities across a large geography
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of Oncology sales experience
Experience and understanding of hospital dynamics (e.g. buy and bill, P&T review process, pharmacy stakeholder and procedures)
Knowledge of contracting and managed care a plus
Experience with biologics and/or biosimilar reference products (e.g. Monoclonal Antibodies) a plus
