4 days onsite and 1 day remote every week mandatoryEmployer is a privately held Pension and Medical Benefits fund manager responsible for managing the pensions and other benefits offered to thousands of employees on behalf of its clients. These benefits are entrusted to and managed by an internally developed MS SQL database which helps its clients determine which benefits each employee is entitled too and the amounts to which they are allowed or have earned. The database and its interfaces (user access) were built in house and require the attention of a full time developer to maintain, improve, protect from data loss and adjust/re-structure upon client requests as well as create and support end users access to reporting and other related functionality.The Developer must posses and show skills encompassing the core domain of work of SQL/DEV/DBA duties along with an ability to help manage the various supporting environmental needs such as helping users with reporting and novel requests, software installs, VM management and files systems/networking, managing backups and so forth.

Exp: 8 to 12 yrs only

QualitiesExtremely analytical with excellent debugging and problem solving skills. Must be able to initiate new projects, and independently improve the Database and related software.Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences and meticulous, repeatable and detailed documentation skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and develop constructive relationships.
  • Must be flexible due to the changing priority of client initiatives.
  • Must be a team player and possess superior interpersonal, analytical and organizational
skills including a studious attention to detail in planning and documentation.
  • Must prioritize tasks and work well under pressure while maintaining composure.
  • Detail-oriented in nature and can demonstrate this orientation with examples of systems analysis related documentation.
  • Determined to understand, design, and IMPROVE solutions supporting business processes and concepts as well as evolving the Database to meet new goals and requirements as customer requests come in.

Expectations
  • Provide internal support to office staff and client support when needed.
  • Lead in the creation of documentation to support current and future applications.
  • Install, customize, upgrade, test, integrate and support third party vendor applications.
  • Refine, develop, and improve upon Database & application requirements.
Develop automated policies for database code to test and ensure compliance with company database standards and Microsoft best practices.

Skills:Expert at programming, debugging, performance tuning, and other capabilities in SQL Server 2008 and above SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Indexes, Triggers, Views, Transactions, Data Flow with strong understanding of SQL databases querying data, troubleshooting, Indexing etc.Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server clustered and stand- alone instances including SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services, etc
  • Experience creating, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server Availability Groups for SQL Server 2012.
  • Extensive knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and PowerScript.
  • Ability to mine the data required for reports or debug them by identifying data related solutions.
  • Experience with Client Reporting need to be able to perform adhoc reporting and exploratory data analysis while working towards automated resolutions.
  • API development is required
  • Expertise in SQL Reporting Services (SSRS/SSIS) and Crystal Reports
  • ZERO TOLERANCE for data loss and/or corruption and thorough plans for mitigation.
  • EXTENSIVE experience with the following database functions/duties: backups, upgrades, patches, restores, troubleshooting, and support of physical/VM servers.
  • Experience creating database mirroring, and database replication.
  • Knowledge of data migration, data archiving and data access techniques.
  • Experience dealing with Windows Desktops and servers, Active Directory Users, Domains, File services, Printers and Power Shell Scripting along with other simple networking duties.
  • Proficiency in excel and an excellent understanding of advanced formulas, pivot tables and writing/editing custom macros in VBA.
  • Working knowledge of VMware, VEAAM, NAS, GPO s and other networking a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft .Net (ASP.Net,C# and VB.Net) application development a plus

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree or higher in computer science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of full stack MS SQL Server Development experience.
  • Experience in a pension, benefits background
  • API development exp is required
  • Certification(s) in relevant area(s) of study is a plus
  • Experience providing on-demand support.
Experience in Database engineering projects and Production Support.
  • Experience with disaster recovery design and implementation a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle, PostGres, MySQL, NetBackup and SolarWind a plus.
