This includes coverage of investment firms, investors, entrepreneurs, and startups working to build companies and develop technologies. Though TechCrunch covers early-stage companies, there is also a broad remit for covering news and stories in the tech ecosystem at large. The person for this role will also help to program and perhaps even moderate our live events, which draw experts on a range of issues around social, e-commerce, hardware, and software tech companies, as well as the wider ecosystem. TechCrunch's mission is to tell the stories behind the stories. You'll need to know how to talk with investors, founders, C-suite executives, engineers, and designers. You'll use your knowledge and acumen to cut through the noise to intelligently inform readers what it all means and why it matters in language suitable for human beings. You will get out in the world and weave your findings into stories that lead the conversation. Top candidates will have the ability to accurately report on multiple stories concurrently in a fast-paced media environment, to be the first and final voice on breaking news, and to place original reporting - including scoops and investigations - at the top of the priority list.
