We’re treating cancer, one patient at a time.Join us and make a difference every day.Job DescriptionOur Lab Medicine department is seeking aMessenger to join our growing team.Main Function: Safely retrieves, transports and delivers all materials (e.g., specimens, mail, treatments, etc.) across/between MSKCC sites.You Are:

You Will:
Pick up and delivers mail to/from Main Campus mailroom and other designated locations.
Retrieve and deliver medical instruments to Central Sterile Processing on a daily basis at designated pick up times.
Transport all materials (e.g., specimens, mail, treatments, etc.) from off-site locations to designated locations in an approved container.
Communicate professionally and politely with the hospital staff and patients.
Respond affirmatively to pick-up requests for off-site locations and from within Main Campus.
Answer the phone clearly and professionally, identifying self and location.
Obtain all the required information from the caller (e.g., name of caller, time of the call, extension caller is calling from, item being picked up, area item is being picked up from, name of recipient, stat/hand deliver).
You Have:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge of basic internet navigation and e-mail.
Hours:
The Messenger Department is open 24 hours, 7 days per week. All employees must be available to work various shifts, rotating weekends and holidays based on departmental needs. Days and hours subject to change.
