Req Number 0034E0Job DescriptionAs a Strategic Information Systems Manager you will manage the activities and staff engaged in data management and analysis in support of strategic planning and program development.Responsibilities Include:

This position is responsible for managing the Major Incident Management process for Information Services

Facilitates decision support and operational processes through the management of electronic databases.

Designs, builds, implements and maintains electronic databases.

Establishes and enforces database usage policies and parameters.

Modifies databases for optimal performance and stability.

Establishes backup and recovery procedures and executes, as needed.

Monitors and maintains database consistency with customer requirements and assists in the formulation of such requirements.

Acts as an internal consultant to System business units.

Acts as an internal project consultant requiring data analytic and database management expertise.

Trains customers regarding databases, query design and other data retrieval activities.

Works with customers to translate data requirements into specific database application designs and assists in the implementation of those designs, as needed.

Assists in the development and preparation of business unit plans.

Prepares supporting analyses including a comprehensive market assessment.

Provides support using strategic planning and market research databases such as SPARCS, Thomson Reuters, or other market information data sources (electronic or print).

Evaluates strategic business unit market performance through the use of benchmark data.

Prepares data, providing analysis as necessary.

Prepares data for strategic business unit presentations.

Compiles and analyzes data in support of recruitment of physicians and medical staff development.

Prepares information and documentation in support of grants for new and expanded programs and initiatives.

Prepares and submits information for external surveys

Continuously strives to meet departmental goals.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, required. Master's Degree, preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years database management experience as primary or sole administrator and a minimum of three (3) years analytical or planning experience
