Description SHIFT: Day JobSCHEDULE: Full-timeActuary Analyst III, Associate ActuaryThis position can be filled at either the Actuary Analyst III or Associate Actuary depending on experience and skillset. Location: Indianapolis, Mason, Waukesha/Pewaukee, WI; St. Louis, Atlanta, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Louisville, or any Anthem office. Associate Actuary Completes the most diverse and complicated projects and performs highly complex actuarial studies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.

Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.

Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration of business unit.

Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.

Actuary Analyst III Support enterprise wide category of service analysis. Positions will be responsible for detailed analytics and reporting focused on inpatient and outpatient services. Completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.

Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.

Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.

Qualifications Actuarial Analyst III

Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Must be able to sit onsite in an Anthem office.

Familiarity with relational databases such as SAS or SQL required

Healthcare preference strongly preferred

Associate Actuary

Requires a BS/BA degree; ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA); at least 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Must be able to sit onsite in an Anthem office

Familiarity with relational databases such as SAS or SQL required

Healthcare preference strongly preferred
