Field Supervisor (Concrete Construction) (Bohemia, NY)

Our client, a Bohemia, Long Island, New York based construction company specializing in commercial and municipal concrete and excavation projects, is seeking a seasoned Field Supervisor for their growing business. This position reports to the owner and requires at least 7 years of construction management experience. Projects are predominantly in central Suffolk County but could be from the east end of Long Island to Manhattan.

Responsibilities

Travel to multiple job sites daily; review and supervise to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Walk job sites to ensure project is on schedule and that the workmanship meets plans, specifications and standards of quality.

Submit daily project updates and weekly progress reports; monitor quality through field inspections/customer feedback.

Manage task lists and construction calendars; schedule and coordinate deliveries and equipment.

Interface with architects, engineers, vendors and inspectors as needed.

Supervise crews and sub-contractors; meet with foreman and set production goals.

Meet with and communicate with other trades to ensure job flow daily.

Ensure inspections are scheduled, completed, and pass successfully.

Ensure workers have the necessary tools, equipment, and materials to perform the job.

Ensure all change order requests have been processed properly.

Enforce safety rules and maintain safe working environments.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in construction project management; concrete or masonry is a plus, but other project management experience would be acceptable (i.e. contracting, carpentry, landscape construction).

In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, tools and equipment.

Experience in reading construction blueprints/plans is a must.

A willingness to drive/travel daily to multiple job sites on Long Island.

Valid Drivers License and ownership of an automobile (company will reimburse for auto use)

Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
