Expanding manufacturing companies in the areas of AMITYVILLE and FARMINGDALE, NY are looking for EXPERIENCED MECHANICS and Jr. MECHANICS to start work ImmediatelyResponsibilities:- Capable of setup filling equipment according with the bulk and components required for the Job Sheet.- Capable of performing electrical and mechanical repairs to packing machines- Capable of setup capper machines, labelers, printers (coders) and box closing machines suitable for the product to be packed.- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems, and production machines following operations manuals and manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems.- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using forklifts, hand and power tools.- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests (Future application).- Maintains continuity among work teams by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Working hours: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AMSkills:- A strong attention to detail is required for this position.- Should be fit and be able to complete all assigned work efficiently.- Ability to lift 35 pounds consistently.- Flexibility to work other shifts, locations and overtime as deemed needed to meet business demands- Should have good oral and written communication skills.- Should have the ability to work in a team environment.- Equipment Maintenance- Technical Understanding- Basic Safety- Power ToolsEducation:High SchoolExperience:ExperiencedQualifications:- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics requiredbending, stooping, turning, stretching, reaching above the shoulders and occasional lifting are involved.- Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position.- Must be able to observe, listen and communicate effectively.- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and outside agencies.If you meet these requirements and you are a HARD WORKING and RESPONSIBLE person who wants to start working ASAP!
