Title: Specialist, Defense ContractLocation: United States-New York-Garden CityJob Number: 10622SUMMARY:The Defense Contract Administrator is responsible for overseeing all pre-award transactions relating to the processing of U.S. Government solicitations or RFQ (Request for Quote).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research Government sites for new open solicitations, including working with GOV agencies for continuous updated material.
Review of all new RFQs and RFPs for special requirements prior to the processing of the vendor quote.
Receive written quote from Sr. Defense Contract Administrator.
Electronically file bids to GOV buying commands.
Coordinate with GOV buying commands for amendments to solicitations, when required.
Coordinate with GOV buying commands regarding the issuance of contract modifications.
Maintain all open GOV quote folders.
Work cooperatively with other members of the Defense group to ensure the highest service level possible.This includes actively participating in group meetings/project teams and consistently striving to improve the organization.
Ensure that department procedures are understood and followed.

Bachelor degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with Government regulations FAR & DFARS
