Job ID: 16763Position Description: Ametek Hughes-Treitler (AHT) is a leading supplier of Compact Plate-Fin Heat Exchangers (Thermal Mgmt) for the Aerospace and Defense Industry. AHT is looking for a Business Development Group Manager to join the department in Garden City, NY. The Business Development Manager (BDM) manages proposals for new business activities, generates cost estimates and business-cases for these proposals, manages key New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from the proposal stage, though development, qualification and into production, as well as the management of selective legacy programs/accounts. This role is focused on the commercial aspects of the programs, including capturing scope creep, price negotiations, PO review/process, as well as proposal management. Operational experience in a manufacturing environment is desired, as well as the ability to estimate the costs (labor/material) for these manufacturing operations. Depending on the individuals background, Spares and MRO business would also be included in the key accounts.Additionally, there is a customer service element to the position introducing strategies and processes to ensure the business is meeting the needs of the customer and creating a reputation for great service, improved communication and constantly looking for ways to improve. Included in this part of the role would be managing of customer forecasts into the MRP system (Oracle), ensuring customer portal demand is aligned with MRP, etc. Close coordination with the operational planning team, engineering team and procurement team is a must, as well as the ability to run telecoms to provide delivery updates to customers.Desired candidate is a self-starter with a customer-friendly approach and a strong work ethic. Must be team oriented, multitask capable, have working knowledge of MS Office products, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintain a professional demeanor in potentially stressful situations, take a proactive approach to problem identification and a creative approach to resolution. Develop a robust PO review & forecast review process for new and legacy orders, inclusive of contract review, T& Cs, QA requirements and other customer flow-downs. For new business, manage proposals for NPI programs, generating cost estimates and business-cases for these proposals. Enter new business opportunities in SalesForce.com. Travel to customers and trade shows in support on new business opportunities. Develop the ability to estimate the costs (labor/material) for manufacturing operations required to produce AHT products. Hands on customer service, with a focus on providing a world-class standard of customer service. For existing business, create and provide quotes, review purchase orders, perform order entry and maintenance, manages customer websites and portals, and resolves customer issues. Ensure all customer service and business development tasks and deliverables of the team are completed on time and to a high standard. Work with VP of Business Development on a growth strategy for your customers and territories. Implement measures to understand customer satisfaction (Voice of Customer) and improve business development/customer service services, new product introduction (NPI) proposals, cost-targets. Manage escalated customer complaints/issues through to completion - including how best to handle communications to customers relating to late deliveries and recovery plans, inclusive of Line of Balances and other reporting tools. Responsible for building key relationships both internally (inter-departmental), and externally with external Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), and our Customers. Coordinate with outside RSMs on communications and quotes to ensure awareness of and alignment with AMETEK goals and customer needs. Ensures compliance to US Export Regulations, and other contractual obligations. Responsible for team recruitment and supporting internal career development.Position Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in in Marketing or Business, MBA a plus. A technical degree in Engineering would be a plus. A program management (PMP) certification would also be a plus.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Business Development and/or Customer Service experience required; preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Manufacturing Engineering and estimating experience for manufacturing costs (labor/material) a plus Due to ITAR Restrictions, an export license may be required.Qualifications: Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, interpersonal skills, well developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization. Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
