Kforce's client, a Long Island, NY based CPA firm is seeking an Audit Manager.Summary:You will plan engagements and audit strategy, participate in the performance of audit procedures, working with other members of the engagement team and client organizations. This position will also involve providing outsourced accounting services to clientele, including preparation of financial statements, outsourced controller functions and more.Key Tasks:
Develop an understanding of the client's business and become a functional expert in the area
Prepare work papers and perform various procedures under generally accepted accounting principles to verify accuracy
Demonstrate concise and organized work paper technique
Build working relationships with client personnel and meet time deadlines; Mentor staff accountants and provide performance evaluations
Demonstrate competency in technical skills; Comply with the Firm's policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software
Prepare for and participate in Firm sponsored training; Supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff training to maintain quality in training programs and ensure professional growth in the staff
Degree in accounting, MBA a plus; CPA preferred
Minimum five years of related experience in public accounting and demonstrated progression in complexity of auditing engagements and leadership abilities; Financial services industry experience including broker dealers preferred
Excellent technical and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP and PCAOB rules and standards
Proficient in use of computer and basic software applications
Successful problem-solving and analytical skills
