Req Number 002RM2Job DescriptionDirects and oversees the staff and activities for 24x7 Pharmacy Services for one or more community business units.Responsibilities Include:

Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budget; and reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.

Develops and oversees financial management including budget, salary, capital, and revenue projections.

Establishes financial goals and objectives yearly and more often, as necessary.

Develops an annual budget for the Patient Care Service and to collect necessary data.

Validates payroll data.

Oversees the development, implementation, and performance evaluation of operating policies and procedures consistent with government and agency regulations, and in collaboration with Health System/Facility goals and objectives.

Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; and oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.

Provides for in-service education and orientation.

Develops and/or oversees schedules and staffing patterns to ensure coverage of the Department.

Communicates changes in related regulations, business and operations.

Builds and maintains productive inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations.

Oversees quality assurance and compliance with government and agency regulations.

Renews regulatory licenses (DEA and New York State Pharmacy) as necessary.

Ensures pre-packaging and compounding activities are in compliance with professional standards and regulations of NYS Board of Pharmacy.

Coordinate department resources in support of clinical trials and research activities.

Oversees purchasing and inventory control to ensure adequate supplies within product specifications.

Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy Science or related field, required.

Current license to practice Pharmacy in New York State, required.

Minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible related work experience to ensure familiarity with the clinical and Administrative aspects of a hospital pharmacy, required.
