We are a contracted service provider for FdX Ground currently preparing to open a full time employment position. The delivery driver must be able to maneuver up to 150 pounds parcels safely. The position requires the driver to have area knowledge or the ability to learn the territory following route planning technology. The expectation is to safely complete the assignment while being gentle with the equipment in a fast paced enviroment. The position is challenging and rewarding. The driver is not required to have a commercial driver's license; however, is required to have a clean motor vehicle record. Start time is between 6:30 am and 7:30 am and completes the day between 1500 and 1600. Throughout the day the driver is unsupervised and largely independent.
As the face to your customers, you will organize and complete the collection and delivery of their packages. Working in an assigned zip code/area, this is more than just a driving position. Building strong relationships with your customers, you will ensure that we continue to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You'll take pride in the service you offer, the uniform you wear, and the vehicle you drive. Overtime is occasionally offered. Various benefits are provided. As well as holding an appropriate driving license, you will be organized, flexible, accurate, and customer focused.
No record of conviction for a felony
21 years of age minimum
Valid NYS drivers license
No license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days during 36 months prior to hire
No record of citation or conviction for the violations listed below during the 36 months prior to hire:
a) Driving while drunk or high
b) Refusing to submit to intoxication testing
c) Operating vehicle with open intoxicants
d) Charged with negligent vehicular homicide
e) Operating with suspended/revoked license
f) Fleeing the scene of an accident
g) Drag racing or reckless driving
h) Using a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony
i) Operating vehicle without owner's permission
k) Running from police
No at-fault accidents resulting in death or injury
No more than 2 at-fault accidents and 2 moving violations within 3 years prior to hire
No more than 1 at-fault traffic accident and 3 moving violations within last 3 years
No more than 4 moving violations in 3 years prior to hire
Completion of suitable contractor/driver information sheet
Verifiable history of safe commercial driving/delivery experience is required consisting of at least 1 year in the past 3, or 5 years in the past 10
Passing of a criminal background check
A current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Successful completion of D.O.T. Physical (at an approved facility)
Successful passing of drug test with no prior record of use.
