Job summary
Handle all customer problems and requests and deal with freight problems.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma; must be able to read, write, and do basic math
Skills:
Must possess good communication and organizational skills
Must possess good telephone skills and be able to work with customers and personnel at outside terminals
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Customer service skills
Problem solving skills
Experience with Microsoft excel, word, and lotus notes
OS&D (Over, Short, and Damaged) Claim experience preferred
License: Must maintain a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
Take customer calls and listen to customer complaints
Resolve customer problems
Tracing freight
Handles pickup requests for freight
Deal with Terminal/Driver problems (pickup & delivery)
Deal with damage and shortage problems
Keep track of all missing/damaged freight
Locate missing freight
Research damages for claims purposes
Call shipper for accessorial charges
Input exceptions into computer of damages/lost freight
Correct billing errors
Proofs of delivery
Process claims
Assist sales people with inspections for damaged freight
Complete service reports for customers
Do driver damage reports
OS&D (Over, Short, Damaged) reports
Conduct daily dock checks
Conference calls for OS&D (Over, Short, Damaged)
Place shipments “On-Hand” and follows up when needed
Sets up inspections when required
Type claims correspondences
Learn and adhere to all applicable company rules, policies and procedures
Interact with all customers both internal and external in a cooperative friendly manner
All office personnel must be reliable, must report for duty on time, and must be available for overtime when required.
All office personnel must keep management informed.
All office personnel must maintain a good working relationship with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management.
Learn and adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures
