Cafe Oasis was started in 2006, and since then we have grown over the years to feature live music, semi-annual poetry reading competitions and a fun environment to enjoy your night out with friends.
Currently we are looking for someone that will be available through the summer into the fall.
We are looking to fill both weekday and weekend shifts. The hours are 7pm - 1am on Monday, 8pm-1am on
Tuesday - Thursday, and 8pm - 3am on Friday and Saturday.
Please only apply if you are available to work 4 nights per week including weekend nights.
To start, the job will require about 15-20 hours of work per week with the potential to pick up more, We are open 34 hours per week so if you are looking for a full time gig (35+hours) then you are looking in the wrong place. You can expect to make in the $10-$13 per hour range. The environment can be fun as long as in the process your work is completed and our customers are happy with our services provided to them.
Job Responsibilities:
Hookah making: Hookah making is not a necessary ability but knowing how to make one will help. If you are someone who does not like to smoke hookah then please do not apply. You will not like this job.
Bartending: Service experience will help greatly. We serve more bottled beer than mixed drinks and the drinks we do serve are typically your basics: vodka cranberry, rum and coke, whiskey sour, screwdrivers etc.
Prep and Cleaning: These are the more labor intensive tasks. Getting everything set up at the beginning of the night and then at least 30 - 45 minutes at the end of the night to have the place ready to go for the next night we are open.

Tasks will include, but not limited to:
Beginning of the night: filling hookahs, prepping the bar, checking bathroom, etc.
Throughout the night: You will be making and serving hookahs, serving drinks, wiping down tables after people have left, cleaning tables, cleaning empty cups and glasses, checking hookahs that are being used.
End of the night: emptying hookahs, sweeping, wiping down tables, cleaning the bathroom, stocking the bar, mopping the floor, cleaning the hookah making station. It's an overall clean and preparation for the next night.
Job Requirements:
Someone with experience is great to have, but we are looking for someone with a great attitude who can learn quick, follow orders and work together so our customers can enjoy their time. Skills can be taught, but the right attitude is essential.
Having your own transportation will also help. Work on a Friday or Saturday will end around 3:30am. Monday through Thursday you can expect to be out no later than 1:15-1:30am.
