If you are a forward-thinker and a curious intellectual, we welcome you to apply for your next exciting career challenge!The Business Intelligence (BI) Project Lead is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing BI projects, and ensuring that deliverables and functionality are achieved as defined, within funding constraints and according to project plans. Also, they lead and mentor BI development resources assigned to the project, work with client management and project management, and escalate decisions and issues as needed. The BI Project Lead coordinates project related issues with other efforts, reviews and resolves project issues not resolved at lower levels. They adhere to Data Warehouse (DW) and BI delivery best practices - policy, procedures, standards, staffing models, etc. for delivery of BI solutions and services.Essential Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction for BI solutions within data warehouse implementations and ensures project and organizational objectives are accomplished.

Acts as the primary point of contact for work management, assignments and status updates for the BI technical team.

Plans, directs and oversees BI project activity; ensures milestones, deliverables and functionality are achieved on time.

Assigns, directs and leads BI resources.

Provides input to, reviews and approves Project Management Plans and Project Schedule, project deliverable templates and other project documentation as they pertain to BI initiatives.

Ensures completion of project deliverables, reviews and approves project deliverables.

In accordance with the BI Practice Area, implements and continually improves processes for delivering BI solutions for data warehouse implementations.

Reviews and resolves project issues, escalates issues as necessary.

Determines resource allocations required to meet project demands, adjusts resource plans and resource assignments as needed to adapt to project changes, ensures staffing levels align with project schedule and budget.

Collaborates and communicates with other managers to ensure project success.

Conducts meetings and presentations.

Participates in risk identification, evaluation, strategy, action plans, and mitigation activities. Approves risk mitigation strategy and action.

Effectively communicates with and develops/maintains excellent working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to ensure project status and strategic direction is shared and project-related interests are met.

Produces documentation of standards and processes governing DW and BI delivery best practices.

Ability to work 5 days a wk on site in Jefferson City, MO

10+ yrs working with large data sets plus deep experience in advanced modeling techniques, statistical analysis, and data mining

10+ yrs exp and expert in depth hands-on experience and knowledge with Cognos

5 yrs planning and directing large scale software development activities and leading implementation teams

Framework Manager and Report Authoring Interfaces

Proven success as a leader responsible for Delivery and Operation of reporting and/or analytic solutions for large implementation projects

In-depth understanding of DW, reporting and analytic solution development best practices and application development best practices (SDLC methodology)

Familiar with both Agile and waterfall development methodologies.

Excellent ability to translate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience

Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, project management, client management and customer stakeholders

Health and Human Services project experience

Experience with dimensional data models (data access, understanding of methodologies and structure)

Experience with advanced analytic tools and platforms such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python

Experience with geospatial analytics and tools such as Esri ArcGIS.

Experience with work management tools such as CA Agile, JIRA, etc….
