If you are a forward-thinker and a curious intellectual, we welcome you to apply for your next exciting career challenge!Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal you will work with a multi-disciplinary team at Promontory Financial Group, an IBM Company, working primarily on the firm’s financial crimes compliance services, with a focus on anti-money laundering data analytics. You will help our clients to design, develop, and execute leading financial crimes compliance programs, making use of innovative approaches and modeling techniques where possible. As part of our client facing team, you will work closely with all levels at the firm, and interact regularly with our clients as we help them to address some of the most complex challenges that they face.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a financial crimes compliance expert for the design and conduct of complex engagements, focusing particularly on the firm’s Anti-money laundering data analytics function.

Interact comfortably with clients (Executive Management, Board Members, and other stakeholders) and regulatory authorities generally with a Managing Director.

Act as client’s point of contact for engagement delivery on a daily basis.

Provides support and guidance to junior colleagues in the development of engagement deliverables.

Contribute and lead analytics-focused engagements interacting stakeholders with/without technical background.

Analyze complex ideas or data to build a range of meaningful recommendations that meet firm’s and client’s expectations.

Present data-driven insights or recommendations non-technical audiences.

Travel as required to client sites in the United States and internationally. Time spent traveling ranges from 30-100 percent, depending on the nature and location of projects.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Preferred locations NYC or Washington D.C.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Ability to lead and manage day to day aspects of engagement activities and an ability to work with clients.

Background and experience in financial services and risk management fields.

Hands-on experience in one or more statistical computer languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data.

Knowledge of the concepts of systems, advanced analytics, modeling, and machine learning techniques (supervised learning and unsupervised learning algorithms, such as decision tree, logistics regression, support vector machines, clustering, etc.).

Experience conducting interviews of compliance professionals as well as senior level business professionals.

Familiarity with U.S. AML laws and regulations (Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, USA PATRIOT Act of 2001) and regulatory agencies.

Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to construct well-founded, clear, and concise analyses and recommendations.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients and within all levels of the organization.

Ability to handle complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

Commitment to integrity and ethics, and a track record of successfully mentoring less-experienced coworkers.

Interest in contributing to thought leadership and industry knowledge through presentations, written articles a plus.

Proficiency with other languages is a plus.

7+ years of experience in banking, consulting, regulatory experience with prior exposure to data analytics and/or financial crimes compliance.

5+ years of demonstrated experience in building and managing project teams to address complex issues in high pressure situations.

5+ years of experience working in a team collaborative environment to identify and develop innovative analytical solutions to challenges.
