Whether it’s our Engineering teams that need a test environment or our software running in production, we are seeking skilled systems management professionals ready for the challenge.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesEmployee will be working for Open Source Software - supporting IBM’s largest clients and providing technical assistance, root cause for outages, diagnosing defects, helping with configuration issues and advising on upgrades.The role involves working with IBM clients through a combination of electronic interaction(Emails, Electronic Tickets) and via the telephone (Inbound/Outbound Calls).Every client call results in an opportunity to experience a new learning opportunity, the team maintains a lab environment that includes a number of architectures and virtualization environments as well as products like OpenShift and GlusterFS.IBM OSS support works with IBM’s largest clients providing technical and project guidance, diagnosing defects, helping with configuration issues and advising on upgrades for 3 major categories (Business Applications, Container and Configuration Management & Software Development and Data): Drive problem resolution, which include: Questions around open source software usage andbest practices Review of architecture and design where software is implemented Research, understand, and advocate open source software Interact with relevant open source communities Be a part of the on-call rotation (roughly once a quarter for one week or alternate shift) Present knowledge via articles, blogs, and conference presentationsRequired Technical and Professional Expertise

Candidates need to have working knowledge of some(any) Open Source Software such as Docker, Apache Web Server, Kubernetes and Open Source DBs (MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Apache Cassandraetc.)

Customer-first mindset with high sense of ownership

7+ Years of Experience required in Open Source Software Administration.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

Able to research client problems via documentation and lab reproduction

Technical knowledge, skills and expertise in complex infrastructure, web-based software and enterprise software

Proficiency in multiple OSS products and technologies (could include Wildfly, Java EE, ActiveMQ, Spring Framework, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Redis, MongoDB, Ansible AWX , Kubernetes, Docker, NGINX, Machine Learning, Jenkins, Puppet, Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, drupal, Ceph, OpenJDK, Nagios, Elasticsearch, Istio, Apache Maven, Hadoop, Redis, GitLab, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Camel, Openstack)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Candidates need to have some scripting experience, those having working knowledge of Programming languages like Python etc. will be preferred.

Needs to be fluent in English (both verbal and written).
