Application Database Administrator, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US: Define, create, implement, maintain, and support databases and replication environment. Create, develop, and review physical model. Ensure compliance of data structures’ physical design with standards, guidelines, and procedures recommended for data modeling, database design, and maintenance. Review physical database structures for data integrity, performance quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirements. Analyze application transaction volume and traffic. Interpret impact on database. Understand system requirements from conceptual models. analyze transactions and data volumes. Design logical and physical database. Enforce security policies and requirements for database access and controls. Utilize Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), Sybase Replication Server, Sybase Central, T-SQL, and Shell Scripting. Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, or related (employer will accept three (3) years of post-secondary study plus one (1) year of IT experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree) and two (2) years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Specialist, or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Sybase ASE, Sybase Replication Server, Sybase Central, T-SQL, and Shell Scripting. Full time.
