Kforce's rapidly growing pharmaceutical company in Amityville, NY is seeking a Controller.This role is currently 100% remote and WILL switch back to office environment when COVID-19 ramps down. Must be able to work in office at that time.Summary:This role will play a key role as a close partner to the Director of Accounting and colleagues in that department. This position will not only support the Director of Accounting across their full range of duties, but also take full ownership of monthly reporting to the FP&A team and assist in new acquisition integration. Other duties may include overseeing of special projects. This is a newly created role.Examples of Responsibilities:
Work closely with staff accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial information, including general ledger administration, account analyses and detailed review of 2 staff accountants
Work product
Assist with oversight of all billing and accounts payable functions
Work with operational departments in oversight of the Company's perpetual and year-end physical Inventory; Assist with the integration of accounting systems for new acquisitions
Interact with and provide support to the Company's external auditors in connection with the Company's annual audit of its financial statements to ensure that the audit process runs smoothly
Become proficient in the Company's ERP software to address any issues and interface with the software consultants in arriving at resolution of issues
Monitor registrations for sales tax in various states
Identify areas for continual process improvement and optimization
Supportive Functions:
While this position reports to the Director of Accounting, the individual in this role will be interfacing regularly with colleagues and leadership in every department including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D and Quality
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or MBA is a plus
A minimum of 10 years working within the finance/accounting function
Experience with managing the general ledger & month end close
Experience out of a manufacturing/distribution company is a plus
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional set of organizational and accounting management skills, likely through working within a large organization with multiple business units and be looking to grow their career by gaining general management exposure and experience within an operating business
