Overview “ Inside Account Manager (IAM)

The IAMs primary focus is serving the needs of small-to-medium solar installers throughout the Eastern US territory by performing a variety of sales oriented tasks in a timely and accurate fashion. A secondary, yet crucial position expectation, is account coverage for teammates who are traveling, on vacation, etc.

The IAM will also be expected to keep management up to date on relevant market trends including, but not limited to, the competitive landscape (and pricing), emerging technologies, the voice of the customer and any other challenges or opportunities that can impact projected sales.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Account Management 50% - 70%

Accountable for continuously generating revenue with emphasis on achieving or exceeding established sales goals.

2. Sales Support & Coverage 20% - 35%

Accountable for team sales support tasks that increase revenue and sales efficiency for the Team and Company.

3. Prospecting 5% - 30%

Accountable for developing and qualifying new Prospects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Account Management

Utilize and accurately maintain CRM database NetSuite

Develop and manage an account base to achieve sales and margin objectives

Ensure visibility of future customer activity by generating and proactively managing quotes and sales orders

Enter sales orders in a timely manner with accurate information; remain engaged after sales order generation to help remove obstacles to shipment and delivery of order

Meet/exceed sales goals on a consistent basis

Provide timely responses to customer inquiries; same day recognition is expected with full answers taking the time required

Provide a responsive and accurate level of customer service in order to meet/exceed customer and other stakeholder expectations

Honestly understand/assess the volume and health of your individual client list; seeking to maintain a robust and growing book of business

Manage customer expectations by understanding and accurately communicating inventory availability, sales programs, promotions, terms and conditions, and company policies to achieve company goals

Effectively communicate BayWa r.e.s value proposition and how it connects to company policies, strategies, and business approach

Understand and appropriately utilize available internal and external sales resources including other Baywa r.e. team members, vendor/partner sales relationships, and other technical resources

Cooperatively work with teammates on balancing mutual books of business; for example, transferring and/or trading customer accounts to other reps in a particular geography or accepting smaller accounts to your own book

Sales Support & Coverage

Provide coverage for Teammates customers and general admin & logistical support as able, including phone calls, quoting, creating sales orders, and new partner apps.

Self-manage time spent on tasks, determine priorities and balance realistic work flow supporting each rep; from saying I cant get to that right now, this has to go to the top of the pile, do you need any help? and more.

Prioritize support to high volume sales team members and allow lower volume/newer sales team members to learn the ropes.

Aid and encourage customer use of the Webstore.

Ensure a positive CX in a fast moving, sometimes uncertain, environment.

Prospecting

Research, contact, qualify and keep/hand-off new Prospects to teammates across the Eastern territory (coordinating with Director of Sales - East)

Maintain and update Team Geo Map for travel, referrals and more.

Skills & Abilities:

Experience with executing on sales and margin goals

Self-starter with drive to make things happen; excellent at project management and prioritization

Demonstrated success in building relationships at all levels of an organization internally and externally

Strategic thinker; capable of translating business objectives into tactical action plans and milestones

Comfort with the mechanical, electrical and structural aspects of solar installations, and with the rapid pace of technological change in the industry

Superior written, communication and presentation skills; ability to present technical information clearly and concisely

Team-oriented, detail-oriented, and creative

High personal integrity

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in business or acceptable equivalent

2+ years of professional sales; solar and B2B environment preferred

Must be legally eligible to work in the US

Ability to travel on an occasional basis, the ability to rent a vehicle and fly nationally

Work from home with onsite highspeed Internet

Ability to engage prospects and customers by phone

Natural curiosity and passion for renewable energy

Enthusiastic, self-directed, proactive, and organized individual

Strong communication, written and verbal, skills

Functional familiarity with Microsoft Excel “ (organizing a spreadsheet, basic formulas and functions, filtering and sorting data), Word and PowerPoint.
