Art Gallery Digital Content Manager

Matthews Gallery is expanding and looking to hire a Digital Content Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Santa Fe’s leading galleries (also with offices in Dallas and Beverly Hills). We show art by American and European master artists of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. If you are interested in art history and want to work with a growing art organization this may a great fit for you.

In order to succeed with us you must be goal oriented, a great time manager, be very organized, and have excellent computer skills. Currently, most of your work will be done remotely, with occasional meetings at the gallery.

An overview of the duties of the DCM include:

1. Management of online inventory records.

2. Social media creation and supervision.

3. Preparing reports of online activity - website visits tracking, online ad tracking, etc. .

4. Assistance with art value appraisals.

Specific duties of the DCM include:

Research market values in the secondary art market in conjunction with art appraisals

Research artist biographical information

Assist in writing press releases, and creating social media communications

Management of gallery inventory

Assist in client client relationship management including website, newsletters, client database, after sale communications and catalog creation

Prepare reports of online activity - website visits tracking, online ad tracking, etc.

Assist in the management of auction sales

Assist in the management of estate collections

Skill requirements:

The ability to work remotely using team communication tools such as Slack

A willingness to work diligently to insure that tasks are accomplished with a high degree of professionalism and on time

An ability to manage one’s time to accomplish the most important tasks

An ability to think creatively

Mac computer proficiency

The ability to write in a compelling manner that creates interest in the reader

A knowledge of social media and its application to business communications

These skills are helpful but not critical:

A knowledge of art history

A knowledge of Photoshop

Position:

This is presently part-time position that will average between 25-30 hours per week.

Compensation:

Compensation will be based on skill level and experience.
