Overview:When it comes to quality cancer care CMC’s Cancer Institute is paving the way for passionate and skilled professionals to be part of our new world-class 100,000 square foot outpatient cancer institute. As cancer continues to be one of the most prevalent chronic diseases in the nation, our goal is to provide premier cancer care for the patients and families of the Central Valley and surrounding regions.CMC’s Cancer Institute is a nationally accredited cancer program committed to excellence in both medical care and all-inclusive patient support. The impressive new three story comprehensive cancer center is located on the Clovis Community campus and houses all outpatient services under one roof. It will be the region’s first comprehensive cancer center working closely with USCF medical staff, providing outpatient cancer treatments, the latest in cancer research and pioneering clinical trials.Community hosts a diverse patient population who are treated with an array of treatment modalities and techniques. Radiation treatments include SRS, SBRT, VMAT, IGRT, DIBH external beam as well as HDR and LDR brachytherapy. The Radiation Oncology department at Community Cancer Institute has an in-house Philips Vereos PET/CT, a Philips Ingenia MRI, as well as an Accuray CyberKnife, a Varian TrueBeam, and two Elekta Infinity linear accelerators. Brachytherapy is performed with a VariSource HDR and I-125 prostate seeds, and treatment planning done with Pinnacle and Mosaiq.Clovis California resides in California’s central valley where it serves as the gateway to the Sierra Nevada Mountains while also being within a few hours drive of the Pacific Ocean. The Clovis/Fresno area offers many of the benefits of a medium sized city while still retaining a reasonable cost of living and residing within easy reach of Los Angeles and San Francisco.Responsibilities:

Provides support for all Physics services related to the California Cancer Institute (CCI) and assist in the oversight of Physics and Dosimetry staff to ensure the team is at the needed level of proficiency and continually trains the team to ensure ongoing competencies.

Evaluates and develops Medical Physics strategic priorities including but not limited to: implementation of any new linear accelerators, radiation safety, clinical research, program accreditation, and quality assurance.

The senior Physicist will collaborate with Physicians, Therapists and Physics/Dosimetry staff to ensure operating objectives and results are in accordance with the overall strategies.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Medical Physics, Physics, Radiation Biology, or a related discipline.

Seven years clinical practice experience.

Experience in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS and SBRT) low-dose rate and high dose rate brachytherapy.

Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology Physics.
