Responsible for unit operation, scheduling, position control, staffing and coordination of the quality improvement process. Applies advanced, broad-based knowledge of nursing practice and theory as well as advanced knowledge of techniques of supervision, management, and leadership as applied to specific nursing responsibilities.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:MINIMUM REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing or successful completion of sufficient units in nursing to qualify for state licensure. Demonstrated expertise in the service area and leadership ability. Approximately three to five years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting. Previous leadership experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting.For Pediatric Unit Manager
Master’s degree in Nursing or
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and
At least three years of clinical nursing experience of which at least two years are in pediatric clinical care.
For Pediatric ICU Unit Manager
Master’s degree in Nursing or
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and either
Master’s degree in a related field or
Certificate in Nursing or Health Care Administration from a nationally recognized accrediting organization; and
At least three years of clinical nursing experience of which at least one year must be in pediatric critical care nursing.
For Neonatal ICU Unit Manager
Master’s degree in Nursing or
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and either
Master’s degree in a related field or
Certificate in Nursing or Health Care Administration from a nationally recognized accrediting organization; and
At least three years of clinical nursing experience of which at least one year must be in a NICU facility that is equivalent to Regional or Community NICU.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSMINIMUM REQUIRED: Current California Registered Nurse license. Current BLS certification.Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU.
