This is a temporary to fulltime opportunity in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Robert Half Technology is seeking a SQL Database Analyst to assist with SQL reporting, database development and backup DBA support as well as SharePoint support for the organization. . The SQL Database Analyst will be responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company. Duties include:Develops a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas;Develops a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary;Provides leadership during the development and enhancement of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications;Work with the transaction processing area to develop both the physical and the logical database administration functions and assists in the development of our processing database and computing environment;Work with others in IT to build the logical database area and provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process;Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies;Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information;Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes;Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications;Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure;Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases;Train users and answer questions;Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters;Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database;Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures and using pen, template or computer software;Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs;Optimize SQL server queries to efficiently and quickly retrieve data;Create and Design best-practice data warehouse solutions that support business reporting tasks;Analyze data models, data relationships, and dependencies for greater optimization;Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project;Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database;Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations;Select and enter codes to monitor database performance and to create production database;Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management;Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions;Review workflow charts developed by programmer analyst to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records;Revise company definition of data as defined in data dictionary;Other duties as needed

The successful SQL Database Analyst will have:Bachelors degree, Two+ years' experience with SQL Server, experience with relational database architecture is a plus. Configuration management experience with Software Development Life Cycle. SQL Reporting with SSRS preferred; knowledge of database administration is a plus and SharePoint is a plus

Applicants will be required to undergo Background check.

This position will be remote temporarily but will resume to onsite support once COVID restrictions are lifted.
