Description
SAIC is looking to fill a position for an Application Engineer to analyze and study complex system requirements. On any given day, the ideal candidate may be asked to:- Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementation.
- Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
- Estimate software development costs and schedule.
- Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervise software configuration management.
- BS/BA plus two (2) years' experience; AA plus four (4) years' related experience; or seven (7) years' related experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 2 years' experience developing Ruby on Rails
- Minimum of 2 years' experience developing JavaScript-driven Applications for business and technical applications
- Minimum 3 years working in a Linux OS
- Experience with software development for web applications
- Must be open to learning and supporting a wide variety of technologies
- Experience working on large applications in a collaborative, team environment
- Experience using Agile development methodologies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred candidate will have an active DOE Q or DOD TS Clearance, but candidate can start uncleared
- Software development experience with git, MySQL, Oracle DB, react, CSS, ticket tracking, Kanban
- Experience working in classified environments
