DescriptionAccountemps is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term temporary-to-full-time role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Albuquerque, New Mexico region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Key responsibilities
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Requirements
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Efficient in ERP systems
Expertise in Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics
Cost accounting experience
Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience
Proficiency in Accounting Entries
Accounting Functions experience
High attention to detail
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to meet deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
