DescriptionOur client, a Freight Forwarding company located in Bergen County is looking to hire a General Business Manager. This is a rapidly growing firm and this is a brand new position for the company. You will report directly to the President of the organization. A major requirement for this position is that this person MUST come out of a similar type of Freight Forwarding company. In this role, you must have experience dealing with the following: General management of all Operation and business staff Develop and implement strategies to increase the revenue You will be involved in developing a communications and brand strategy Full P&L responsibility across all business units Overall responsibility for the day to day running of the freight forwarding operations team. Holding weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports to provide coaching, support and accountability Conduct performance reviews and identify training opportunities Working with direct reports to set short and long-term goals for each business area Understanding and working with internal and external stakeholders to develop an effective digital strategy for the business Customer and Vendor relationship management You will develop relationships with key accounts in conjunction with the Sales Strategic HR involvement on Hiring and any disciplinary mattersRequirements Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Equivalent Experience in Global freight forwarding or logistics leadership ( 5-7 Years ) Experience within a similar senior management position ( 3-5 Years ) Experience in developing and leading freight forwarding teams through periods of change Strong communication skills and commercial mindset are must.Robert Half Finance & Accounting, the world's leader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
