A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management. May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers. Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Technically proficient in the IBM Mainframe environment, IBM PC/LAN networks, Microsoft servers.
Highly skilled in COBOL5, CICS, VSAM, JCL, DB2, db2 Utilities, BMC Utilities, Stored Procedures, QMF, TSO/ISPF, Enterprise Endevor, FileAid, File Manager, Expediter, Intertest and many other mainframe utilities and PC software and tools.
Heavy knowledge of DB2/SQL
Should have developed new Cobol/D2 and native stored procedures
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and demonstrates a willingness to accept additional responsibilities and projects
Desired SkillsThe candidate must have full engagement on hands-on development, writing code on a daily basis and must be eager to help other members of the team grow by performing peer reviews, including refactoring existing application code to meet standardization and quality requirements.The candidate must have at least 15 years of industry experience in SDLC, software development, design, and architecture, and is adept in multi-platform development technologies (Web and Mainframe)Proficient in agile/scrum development methodology and should be able to contribute to a team of developers in delivering projects using an Iterative Development approach.Knowledge and experience in JAVA Programming
