Job Description: This Field Engineer will join our Technical Services Team in providing on-site support for PCs, networking equipment, servers, firewalls, and desktop software for a variety of small to medium-sized organizations. The candidate should not be opposed to performing a wide variety of IT support ranging from simple desktop support to complex server and network issues, as dictated by clients and available work. When not performing on-site work, the field engineer will report to our Morris Plains, NJ office to provide remote support.
Job Requirements:
70% Field Work/ 30% Remote Support in the NJ/NYC area.
Must have reliable car. IRS mileage reimbursement.
Experience working independently while collaborating with other Technical staff as necessary.
Willingness to take ownership of issues and take initiative
Ability follow internal procedures and document tickets and time daily in our PSA
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are a must.
Commit to continuous education, certification and self-improvement
Technical :
3 + years of RECENT professional experience in supporting the following: (Preferably with a MSP/VAR or IT consulting firm)
Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Active Directory
Microsoft Exchange (installation, administration and troubleshooting)
Networking connectivity & related equipment
Virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V/VMWare)
Backup Technologies such as Datto, Shadow Protect
Experience with ConnectWise, Labtech or similar products highly preferred
Meets all assigned technical training goals
