ACI is currently seeking a part-time Medical Assistant Instructor for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
Description
Advantage Career Institute Medical and Dental School is a progressive, post-secondary career school located in Eatontown, NJ. Our school offers training in "in-demand" careers in the medical and dental field.
The part-time Medical Assistant Instructor will report directly to the ACI Lead Medical Assistant Instructor, and will be responsible for the academic success of our students by providing quality instruction through well-prepared lessons and assignments utilizing an approved, standardized syllabi.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the ACI Medical Assistant Instructors include but are not limited to:
Providing each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written outlines and syllabi.
Preparation of all course materials and lessons including relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting while ensuring course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabi.
Suitably challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect, and serving as an industry role-model.
Maintain grade books and administer assessment exams.
Identify and refer at-risk students to specific academic support services.
Ensure safety and sanitation of all labs, equipment and supplies.
Maintain credentials as required by accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies.
Work effectively as part of the ACI team including attendance of monthly staff meetings and participation in graduation ceremonies.
Requirements
Minimum of two years clinical experience.
Experience teaching in an accelerated post-secondary career school with a diverse group of students.
Demonstrated ability to teach clinical laboratory skills including EKGs, vital signs, pharmacology, venipuncture, and patient care skills.
Knowledge of front office administration and computer skills.
Knowledge of ICD and CPT Coding, HCPCS, Medical Insurance Billing, Medical Practice Management, and Electronic Health Records.
Possess current certifications in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Technician, and Patient Care Technician.
