In this role, you will provide strategic analysis, develop business models, make recommendations and manage projects to support this growing business unit. You will work closely and collaborate with business unit management including senior level executives (VP/SVP/ President), as well as external contacts to develop strategic options and appropriate business and marketing plans. In addition, you will also work with the M&A group to evaluate and validate business proposals for growth opportunities for the division.Formula for Success· Your robust analytical skills in combination with your excellent report writing ability will be critical as you monitor, research, and analyze the business environment. This includes providing data, analysis and recommendations based on key business drivers such as overall industry and market trends, customer and supplier assessments, competitor analysis and partner and alliances feedback.· Your strong marketing acumen will serve you well as you partner with the business in identifying and implementing appropriate strategic business development and marketing initiatives.· Your solid ability to develop strategic concepts will be evident as you collaborate and synthesize information across different functions and regions to ensure a deeper understanding of the business environment. Additionally, you will report on and make appropriate recommendations to senior leadership based on that information.· Using your strong initiative and ability to influence others, you will liaise with and coordinate information sharing with appropriate BASF central functions including controlling, asset management and business management both globally cross Business Unit and cross Division. You will also be responsible for the annual strategic controlling initiative.· Using your ability to read and understand financial reports will be a valued asset as you review and provide input to market statements for capital projects to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.· Leveraging your Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, etc.) or business (Marketing, Finance) field and your experience in any combination of the following disciplines: business or product management, strategic development & planning and/or sales & marketing, you will provide strategic perspective to M&A and New Business Development activities through research, providing data and analyzing options for acquisitions, partnership and/or alliances, as appropriate. MBA is preferred.· Demonstrating your superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, you will attend global and regional business meetings to share strategic developments with key stakeholders of business.· Your demonstrated proficiency in utilizing appropriate project management techniques along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously will be essential as you lead divisional projects representing the Catalyst Division on platform or regional topics. You will also use these skills to manage projects to evaluate strategic options facing the business.
