The Graphics Project Manager will act as an information focal point for graphics/design related deliverables. This information will be organized and documented for the purpose of inserting work into the regional production hub to fulfill the graphics requirements of various exhibits, tradeshows, and events. The success of the position involves managing/coordinating graphics orders into the regional production hub in accordance with prescribed capacity plan timelines, budget, and quality parameters.

The position is responsible for coordinating all facets of graphic signage manufacturing/production for assigned projects (tradeshows, exhibits, etc.). Ultimately responsible for ensuring that assigned resources deliver on all required/ordered signage for events. Responsibilities are diverse in nature requiring initiative and judgment in determining appropriate project solutions.

Responsibilities

Meet with GES Sales/Account Managers and client organizations (show managers), receive, detail, and document show graphic information; create and manage to time schedules for the project; submit work into regional graphic production hubs; assemble and coordinate resources (both internal and external) required for the project; manage construction (regional hub and subcontracted services beyond the scope of internal capabilities) and implementation (showsite support) of the project.

  • Responsible for the delivery of all assigned Graphic projects.

  • Act as the single point of contact with internal customers, vendors and graphics shop on project related requirements.

  • Coordinates/collaborates with all departments (Account Management, regional production hub, Shop), local and remote, to ensure correct information is communicated. Initiate and coordinate changes and additions as deemed necessary.

  • Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering show graphics process from the layout stages through planning, procurement, construction, and deployment.

  • Ensure that project team members are aware of responsibilities, commitments, and performance on the project. Communicate project status as required and provide status reports and meeting minutes as required.

  • Responsible for the identification of schedule and cost variances and the development and implementation of recommendations (contingency plans) for corrective action for negative variances.

  • Generate specific status reports, critical path activities (design package completion, proof and approval timelines, etc.), project specifications, and punch lists.

  • Provide support and solutions to problematic issues for customer (internal and external) challenges.

  • Provide production support to events with requirements that are not executable from the remote production facility, including, and not limited to:

  • Produce signage requirements using graphic production equipment: computers using desktop publishing software, RIP stations, inkjet printers, ID sign printers, laminators, and various cutting devices.

- Facilitate/coordinate subcontracting services with local subcontracting partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Graphics Design and Production
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Business or other related field. PMP certification a plus.

  • Graphics software application knowledge: Adobe packages (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, InDesign)

  • Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Graphics equipment experience: inkjet printers, ID printers, laminating and cutting equipment.

  • Proven experience in managing small and large projects from inception to project closeout.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize work flow to meet daily output quotas as identified in the Capacity Planning Model

    • Demonstrated ability to manage the everyday details of a project while focusing on the highest quality result

    • Strong project management and implementation skills

    • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

    • Effective written and verbal communications skills

    • Demonstrated ability to make professional client presentations which contribute to new business sales and the retention of existing business

    • Excellent customer and inter-company relationship skills, including the ability to collaborate with front-line managers in remote locations to ensure appropriate resources are allocated to assigned projects.
