Program Assistants participate in the planning and facilitation of individual and group therapeutic recreational programs that meet the needs and interests of our members. Program Assistants assist individual members with activities of daily living as needed, serve meals and snacks, and help to maintain a clean, orderly and uplifting environment. Our team members are expected to lead by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being a thoughtful, supportive, productive and dependable co-worker; keeping our members safe; and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them.

Assist one adult with special needs with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).

Assist with feeding as needed

Pbserve member for change in behavior, physical condition, or other unusual occurences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.

Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.

Provide close observation to ensure the safety og assigned member across settings.

Acompany member on community outings outside of the facility.

Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.

Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as requested; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center’s overall goals and objectives.

Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.

Other tasks and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time by Center Director or designee.

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 18 years of age.

At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.

Prior experience working with a Spectrum daignosis and/or other intellectual delays or physical disabilites.

Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.

Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.

Able to work a flexible schedule.

Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to assigned member.

Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.
