Service Coordinator Job Description

The Service Coordinator will open, quote, dispatch and schedule all shop and field service repairs and preventive maintenance of compressed air equipment, vacuums, dryers, etc., providing regular updates to the service manager and the customer. This position shares responsibility and works closely as a team with other service support personnel, i.e. sales and purchasing to coordinate the activities of their working service territory. The service coordinator also serves as information liaison between the service department and customers.

Principle Duties:

o Answer incoming service department calls

o Schedule service jobs upon receipt of customer purchase orders

o Open, dispatch, and schedule all shop and field service repairs in computer system

o Maintain weekly technician service schedule and work with purchasing/inventory supply parts to service technicians

o Provide prompt response and regular updates to customer

o Maintain and update schedules service orders and warranties in computer system

o Expedite the closing of service orders approved for invoicing

o Type estimates of repair, service agreements, letters, memos, etc.

o Maintain service files, including service contracts and related agreements, warranties, open orders, customer history

o Contribute to positive DRG company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional and customer oriented image to customers

o Perform all duties in accordance with DRG standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.

o Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.

You may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Experience:

o knowledge of parts and maintenance/repair for air compressor or similar machinery preferred

o must be able to work independently and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills

o must be able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to customer service

o must be proficient in Microsoft office, including word and excel
