Chief Financial Officer- QM Resorts
MAJOR FUNCTION OF POSITION:
Reporting to and partnering with the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will set QM Resorts' and its subsidiaries' financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization's overall strategy. S/he will lead all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will work closely with the board of directors for multiple homeowners associations. The CFO will lead QM Corporation's finance/accounting, and human resources (HR) staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (non-inclusive):
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Develop financial and tax strategies
Develop and implement budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
Maintain positive in-depth relationships with all members of the management team and board members
Manage the accounting, and human resources departments
Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies
Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced including legal
Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
Implement operational best practices
Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
Oversee the issuance of financial information
Report financial results to the board of directors
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
Construct and monitor control systems
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
Report risk issues to the board of directors
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Maintain banking relationships
Desired Qualifications
The Chief Financial Officer candidate should have a master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a midsized company or division of a large corporation. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Experience in Timeshare, Hotel, Real Estate Development, and/or HOA relations preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations. Our ideal candidate will have experience leading an accounting team as well as experience in tax.
