Performs Surgical Instrumentation, clerical, receptionist, and communication duties on the Labor & Delivery unit. Provides safe, competent surgical instrumentation compliance with the Standards of Care and the Standards of Practice. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a scrub technician appropriate to the surgery being performed. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span, and possesses ability to collect data reflective of patient status and reports to the registered nurse and/or surgeon. Provides care as described in department policies and procedures, and as defined in the State of Nevada Nurse Practice Act. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment and yearly thereafter.HCA is dedicated to the growth and development of our colleagues. Completion of scrub technician course or equivalent.

One year in Labor & Delivery unit, comparable or busier.

1 year prior OB Tech experience in an acute hospital setting is strongly preferred.

Typing or computer experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of growth & development.

Ability to assess age-specific data.

Ability to provide age-specific treatment.

Communication skills to adequately interpret age-specific response to treatment.

Ability to involve family/significant others in decision making related to patient care.
