POSITION SUMMARY :

The Diet Aide is responsible for preparing and handling food items safely, performing daily sanitation practices, and following all County, State and Regulatory agency guidelines.

Employee must demonstrate how to handle both hot and cold food correctly, properly store and label food products, and protect food from contamination.

Appropriate documentation of temperature logs, food records, floor stock sheets and other department records are required daily.

Employees who work in the Food and Nutrition department will be responsible for preparing, handling and stocking food products in the following areas : patient, café, doctor’s lounges, unit food pantries, catered event areas, and other areas pertaining to the hospital which may require food distribution or serving.

Utilizing advanced digital technology and an accomplished medical staff, Southern Hills Hospital boasts 252 beds and provides the communities of southwest Las Vegas with emergency and pediatric emergency services, behavioral health inpatient and outpatient programs for ages 55 and older, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, OB-GYN and diagnostic imaging and surgical services.

Previous healthcare food service experience preferred

Prior customer service experience preferred

CERTIFICATION :

Clark County food handlers card required

Culinary certificates preferred, but not required

ServSafe certification a plus but not required
