the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Sparks, NV.This position operates and maintains engineering equipment on unit

Requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), based on
the type or kind of equipment being operated. The incumbent must
ensure appropriate permits are obtained for transporting and
operating equipment assigned.
Operates one or more heavy gasoline or diesel powered wheeled or
crawler type engineering and construction equipment to excavate,
backfill, grade or level earth to rough specifications on such
projects as roads, ditches, or construction sites.
Ensures equipment is maintained in good working condition.
Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, minor repairs and
adjustments, and maintains proper records.
Moves earth and rock on mountains with steep slopes, graded
curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, and other surfaces
with similar rough features to grade to the general contour
desired on trails, roads, canals, tunnels, or construction
sites.
Performs rough grading as well as fine surfacing on flat or
rolling terrain. May perform fine grading with closer
instruction and supervision.
Assess and analyze work sites for safety issues and design work
to mitigate them.
Travel Required76% or greater - This position may require extensive traveling, with
approximately 75% of the work being performed out of town. The road
crew typically works a modified schedule of eight days on and six
days off, with a day consisting of ten hours. Lodging is in a hotel
