Location - Carson City, NVResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of this position are: Provides for the control, use and disposal of property and materials Maintains records and assists in conducting annual inventories of assigned accountable property. Identifies unused or limited use property for disposal considerations. Provides for the control, shipping, receipt, issue, storage, inventory, and disposal of warehoused items. Reviews documents, computer printouts, stock record activities, reports of surveys, etc., to assure procedures are consistent with current policy and regulatory guidance, detects potential problems, and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Reviews received supplies and equipment against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests, and shipping documents. Unpacks, unloads, and stores incoming supplies. Verifies unit of issue, item description, quality, quantity and condition. Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered. Applicants may be required to serve an initial probationary period.QualificationsTo qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as: Providing supply support utilizing auditing techniques and compiling data to identify deficiencies with supply systems. Performing reconciliations of supply invoices; researching supply documents for discrepancies; operating a supply automated system to enter supply data; editing and processing requisitions; receiving, storing and/or issuing a variety of operating and maintenance materials; initiates purchase requests for supplies, parts, materials, services and equipment. These examples are not all inclusive. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
