Regular/TemporaryRegularAdd to Favorite JobsEmail this JobResponsibilitiesOPPD's Environmental Sustainability Specialist will support various sustainability efforts, which include programs involving renewable energy, water conservation, waste reduction, greenhouse gas and carbon accounting, recycling and energy efficiency. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System including oversight of data, record retention requirements and statistical analysis of program elements. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Establish sustainability policies and manage sustainability projects for water, energy, and land management.

Create strategies for engaging stakeholders in sustainable projects

Research and identify industry trends impacting OPPD sustainability efforts including current technology applications in environmental science, energy technology, green technology, and natural resource management.

Identify, develop, implement, provide oversight and track the progress of the programs.

Use statistical analysis to review program patterns and determine the optimized value of offered programs to be used in OPPD’s sustainability goals.

Manage and maintain the corporate environmental management system.

Assist with defining and implementing a master plan to define metrics for environmental related programs.

Determine relevance and accuracy of information provided by other functional groups.

Address inaccuracies through the creation and oversight of Corrective Action Plans.

Assist with ongoing communication with internal and external customers including OPPD senior managers and Board of Directors. QualificationsRequired:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, sustainability management or a related field OR eight (8) years of equivalent work experience

Three (3) years of experience supporting sustainability programs and/or projects.

Experience in renewable energy, water resources, land management, waste recycling, resource conservation, and energy efficiency efforts

Desired:

Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems

Familiarity with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Green Associate certification or equivalent

Project Management certification
