Summary
Construction technician to assist Construction Team with creating, and improving construction methods and maintaining network systems. Job duties vary depending on the day to day assignments. Assist construction team with designing and building outside and inside plant trough out roads and various structures.
Responsibilities
Create solutions to complex technical problems in a variety of build out situations.
Assist construction team as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
Perform extensive research and development during creation phase of Network.
Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement.
Research and collect data.
Assist with inside and outside plant design, and development
Build and set up tracking systems.
Prepare documents for contractor packets.
Calculate or record conduit and fiber footages.
Create internal building routes.
Utilize computer-aided design and drafting equipment during design phase.
Plan and coordinate the conduit construction thru and across highways, buildings, bridges, and other structures
Estimate construction costs and specify materials to be used.
Perform land and building searches.
Contact and set up meetings with building owners
Order and distribute materials to contractors.
Develop methods used in the prevention, control, or remediation of construction sites.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
3 years' fiber design and construction.
2 years' supervising / inspecting field work of crews / contractors.

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of fiber design.
Basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and GIS/CAD.
Skill to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, contractors and company employees.
Good negotiating skills.
Good mathematical skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
