The Edelweiss Bistro is a small German bistro located inside Bayern Brewing and serves an exclusively German-style menu. We are looking for a dependable, hard working individual who is available for both day and evening shifts for approximately 30 hours/week. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the daily preparation and plating of all food items
Able to work at an efficient and quick pace while not sacrificing quality
Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Edelweiss Bistro
Responsible for restocking items as needed during shift
Demonstrates a working knowledge of how to use and maintain all kitchen equipment and tools
Able to follow inventory control procedures to reduce product loss
Ensure consistent and efficient production of all food items served from the kitchen
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of current Food Safety laws and local Food Codes
◦ If not currently ServSafe Certified, must be willing to go through training
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the entire restaurant
Manage time effectively and meet all job responsibilities
Maintain a positive work environment for employees and customers
Ensure all food items are prepared according to the Edelweiss Bistro's standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness
Check food quality and temperatures often throughout the day to maintain Health and Safety regulations
Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures including knife handling and kitchen equipment
Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including the cleaning of surfaces, sweeping of the floors, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to Bistro policies and procedures.
Assists with the cleaning, sanitization, and organization of both kitchens, dry storage, all coolers/freezers, and all areas where Bistro equipment or products are held.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Head Chef, Supervisor, or Kitchen Manager at any time.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Sets a good example for other employees’ behaviors
Acts with integrity and honesty while promoting the Edelweiss Bistro and Bayern Brewing
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Previous Experience: Preferred, but not required
Must have reliable transportation
Able to use touch-sensitive POS System
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Able to work in a high-temperature kitchen for an extended period of time
Able to stand and work in one place for an extended period of time
Must be able to take direction and work without constant supervision
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
